This past week, the wedding bells rang, inviting Naija celebs to do their due diligence in the wardrobe department. From Sharon Ooja and her “Odogwu silencer” Ugo Nwoke to Davido and his pretty wife Chioma, and a number of engagement announcements, it’s officially wedding season. With star-studded events come a display of fashion beyond what we’ve become accustomed to. A plethora of looks were served, with little demand placed on complicated ensembles. Every piece held a simplistic aura, but one that shouldn’t be mistaken for ordinary.

Beyond the simplicity of these stylish Nigerian looks, another common denominator was an effortless expression decorated with poise. The renderings ranged from evergreen all-black getups to a full-on submission of floral patterns. With more high-profile weddings on the horizon, the assurance of experiencing more celebrities peacocking in flamboyant outfits is a certain expectation.

Check out the stylish Nigerian celeb looks from the past weeks…

#1. Nanfe Jemimah Kefas-Oyeleke

Wearing soft metallics with accessories indistinguishable from the outfit is art in its individualist representation–something Nigerian model, Nanfe Jemimah Kefas-Oyeleke is conversant in. Her pleated flowy dress, which exposed her shoulders, made for a sexy release. Strutting into the “Love Unites Us 24” wedding of Nollywood actress Sharon Ooja, this beguiling fit was a regal hit. The dress, against her bronze skin, subtle makeup, and wavy hair, spoke fluently in elegance.

#2. Tolu Bally

Nigerian designer Tolu Bally posed on Instagram in a black Alexander McQueen suit with silver accents styled with a draped silver top and a matching purse from Amina Muaddi. She punched things up with a big-hair-don’t-care moment, which blended seamlessly with her boss babe fashion execution. A tailored suit in the right color paired with the right accessories is a recipe for inarguable slay.

#3. Beverly Osu

Yellow and ruffles are a perfect marriage of whimsy, positivity, and chic. Beverly Osu stunned in a mini Kome Osalor dress for the “Love Unites Us 24” after-party. The mono-sleeve number held an abundance of ruffles on the sleeve and bottom, which fostered a knowing sway. Yellow is the biggest summer dress color for a reason. Celebrities, high-end fashion designers, and even influencers may have varying preferences for silhouettes, but all seem to agree on this burst of sunshine. Sport this to a wedding after-party–it’s the bubbliest choice of the season.

An all-over floral print blazer adds a dressy flair to an otherwise regular denim coordination. Floral prints continue to morph into unrelenting variations, including embellished jeans and bold patterned jackets. You can dare to merge both pieces for a loud result, like Nigerian designer Yutee Rone.

The designer took the playful route to a night out in a sheer top styled with floral-detailed jeans. She completed the look with a floral-print blazer, a Dolce and Gabbana purse, black pumps, and a stack of necklaces. There’s something about the right look finding expression on a girl’s night out filled with adventure and style.

#5. Zainab Balogun

Metallics have become a major part of luxury day wear with softer renderings and relatable details. Fashion brand, Imad Eduso is renowned for its sleek textures, razor-sharp tailoring, and large sequin adornment that champion metallic fever. Media personality Zainab Balogun rocked an offering from the brand: a tweed mini skirt with large sequin details, a green metallic top with statement sleeves, and matching heels–all for the thrill of fashionable drama. The modish look was a synchronized texture play which allowed much for the scope of imagination.

In the midst of the fanfare, trust minimalist designer Andrea Iyamah to offer simplistic outfits that balance the voracious noise of loud fashion. The designer wore a head-to-toe neutral-toned look, which featured a corseted side-slit maxi skirt with a Copenhagen-inspired bodysuit. She stayed on course even with the nail polish. Spare no drama, neutral fits do justice to the frame and leave no stone unturned in making its subtle but remarkable imprint.

#7. Prudent Gabriel

With news of modest fashion designer, Prudent Gabriel getting engaged to Nigerian gospel musician, Peterson Okopi flooding our timelines, the buzz on her creations has tripled. A few days ago, the beautiful designer soft-launched her new ride dressed in a black, thigh-high slit dress with an elaborate white collar and gold buttons fastened on the midriff. As cliché as it may sound to right a style rut with a black dress, the flip side is purposing in your heart never to opt for basic.
