Police-Involved Shooting Results in Death of 13-Year-Old Fleeing Scene
Early this morning, a tragic incident unfolded in the 2300 block of South Sawyer as police officers responded to reports of shots fired. The officers arrived at 2:37 a.m. and spotted two males in a nearby alley. Upon seeing the police, both individuals attempted to flee, prompting the officers to give chase.
Unfortunately, the sequence of events took a grim turn when one of the boys, identified as a 13-year-old, was shot. The person shot was pronounced dead at the scene, and a weapon was reportedly recovered from him.
