FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Adam Frank Cypress, who recently celebrated his 23rd birthday and already has an arrest record in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, got in trouble again.

When he was 18 years old, police officers arrested him for battery. Prosecutors dropped the case. When he was 20, he was arrested three times.

At 21, deputies found a stolen Taurus G3C 9 mm handgun and accused Cypress of waving it around. At 22, a fight with his brother got him arrested.

“Adam pointed an AR-15 rifle at him after they stopped fighting,” Deputy Elonzo Walker wrote in the arrest report.

Seminole Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Cypress on Saturday again while he was on probation until April 10, 2025. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies held him on Sunday at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale.

According to court records, Broward prosecutors filed a felony case on Sunday against the Seminole’s Hollywood Reservation resident for third-degree grand theft.

The item Cypress allegedly stole had a value of over $750 and less than $5,000. He was also facing a second-degree misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

BSO deputies were holding him without bond for the probation violation. A judge set his bond for the grand theft and disorderly conduct charges at $15,000. Circuit Judge Gary M. Farmer, Jr. was set to preside over the case.
