Ifeanyi Ubah Holds Governor Soludo Responsible for Arrangements of Flavour’s Father’s Burial in Enugu
– Senator Ifeanyi Ubah from Anambra South has expressed disapproval towards Governor Chukwuma Soludo for allowing Nigerian musician Flavour to host his father’s burial in Enugu State rather than his customary ancestral home in Anambra.
Ubah blamed Soludo for the poor security situation in Anambra, which led to Flavour’s decision to move the burial to Enugu.
According to reports, Flavour had initially planned to hold the burial in Umunze, his hometown in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

However, he shifted the event to Enugu due to security concerns in Anambra. Cubana Chief Priest, a nightlife promoter who attended the event, revealed that the original plan was to hold the burial in Umunze but was moved to Enugu due to security concerns.
Ubah, in a statement through his media advisor, Kamen Ogbonna, apologized to Flavour for missing the opportunity to celebrate his father’s life in his hometown.
He also blamed Soludo for failing to improve the security situation in Umunze, which led to the decision to hold the burial in Enugu.
Ubah claimed that Soludo’s interference had hindered efforts to address insecurity in the region and that his constituents were vulnerable to security threats.
Ubah further stated that he had launched a security initiative in 2023 to provide comprehensive security coverage for the Anambra South senatorial district.
The initiative was successful in Nnewi, but Soludo’s interference halted its expansion to other areas, including Orumba North and South, Aguata, Ihiala, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo.
Ubah claimed that Nnewi, where he implemented the initiative without hindrance, is today the safest town in Anambra State.
Ubah emphasized that the state government’s actions had left his constituents vulnerable to security threats, particularly in areas currently under siege by non-state actors.
He vowed to continue advocating for the security and well-being of his people, despite the obstacles.
