Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Destiny Ikubor aka Rema has shared his opinion on the fad by some of his colleagues who are distancing their music from Afrobeats.

Skabash recalls that Burna Boy and Fireboy DML had expressed that Afrobeat music lacked substance or proper lyricism.

Wizkid also said that he does not make Afrobeats music while announcing his new album.

More recently, Davido said he considers his music to be Afro-fusion instead.
