The Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) Enugu state chapter, has completely dissociated itself from the trial and prosecution of Mr Bright Ngene, the Labour Party(LP) candidate for Enugu South 1 House of Assembly constituency in the 2023 election.

Addressing newsmen yesterday at PDP party secretariat, the state chairman Hon. Augustine Nnamani said the suit against Bright Ngene of LP is purely a case of conspiracy and stealing between him, two others and his community of Akwuke/Akwuke Uwani, which started as far back as 2017.

Enugu PDP made the clarification against claims by the LP National Working Committee, alleging political witchhunt by the Enugu state government.

Hon.Nnamani stated, “From the foregoing, it is clear that the sentiments being pushed by Bright Ngene.the LP and his supporters to politicise his trial is a complete fallacy as his trial dates back to 21st August 2017,many years before he ever thought about picking form to contest for a seat in the Enugu state House of Assembly.

“Second is the fact that his case of stealing of about N15.750.000 belonging to Akwuke/Akwuke Uwani communities was at the instance of his own people who not only reported the matter to the police, but also testified against him in their numbers throughout the trial”.

The Enugu PDP berated the Labour party for fielding a man with questionable character in the election and asked them to bow down their head in shame.
