Weleda Skin Food is on sale for less than £1 for Prime Day, & it comes Hailey Bieber-approved

glamourmagazine.co.uk 2024/8/24

Weleda Skin Food is a godsend for dry skin, hence why it comes Hailey Bieber, Victoria Beckham and Rosie Huntington-Whitley approved. Continuously crowned as one of the bestselling and most-loved skincare products on the market – despite its hefty competition – you'd be forgiven for thinking that Weleda Skin Food would set you back a few pay-checks. But that's where you'd be wrong.

Usually retailing at £12.07 (for 75ml), you can currently get it for just 11p thanks to Amazon Prime Day. You read that correctly, eleven pence. So, while you should absolutely scope out all the other beauty deals, fashion deals and home deals, best believe that Weleda Skin Food is the moisturiser you should make a beeline for first. This deal won't last forever.

What are the different ways you can use Weleda Skin Food?

“It’s our best defence against wind and weather, and great for dry or rough hands that need a treat, or thirsty skin anywhere on the body, especially dry patches such as elbows,” Weleda says. It's advertised as rich, intensive skincare for your face and body and sits somewhere between an emollient (think: Vaseline) and a cream.

It's a bit of a backstage beauty secret, but it's formulated with lanolin, organic sunflower seed oil and plenty of yummy essential oils that give it that iconic fragrance but that also feed your skin (hence the name). It's often used as as a moisturiser during the day or as a night cream or balm for its deeply penetrating and replenishing properties. It also works as a highlighter, eyebrow tamer and fake tan prolonger, too.

“I've had a lot of makeup artists use this on me and I love it,” says Hailey Bieber. “I just use the tiniest bit, and I feel like it does the trick that I'm wanting of just adding a little bit more hydration.”

She's not wrong; you only need a pea-sized amount of this stuff as a little does go a long way, but that just means it lasts longer. Another plus.

Is Weleda Skin Food good for your face?

Yes, absolutely. It's super protecting, especially during the winter months, and will give you a glowy complexion like nothing else. Oilier skin types can use it too, especially if you find your skin irritated after retinol or retinoid products, as it restores the barrier.

Is Weleda Skin Food suitable for all skin types?

Weleda Skin Food is largely formulated for dry skin – so if you're forever suffering with a complexion that just won't hold moisture, we can't recommend Skin Food enough. It gives a beautiful glow, and nourishes skin deeply.

If you've got combination skin, due to just how moisturising this stuff is, we'd recommend applying to those pesky dry patches only. Avoid the oily T-zone. If you've got oily skin? This probably won't be the product for your face – but you could use it post-retinol, give the Light version a whirl, or use it on elbows, hands and body.

Which celebrity uses Weleda Skin Food?

Mrs Bieber is often seen using it – alongside her own Rhode products, of course – during her ‘get ready with me’ videos over on TikTok.

“My final step with skin prep for makeup is that I like to get a richer, heavier cream and just put that in some spots where I feel like I get more dry and that I want a little more of a sheen and highlight underneath.” Hailey says.

“We introduced a totally natural, replenishing cream in 1926 that's still going strong today,” says Weleda. “For years Skin Food was an industry beauty secret, but in the past decade it's become a firm favourite with many high-profile celebrities.”

According to the brand themselves, a tube of Skin Food Original sells every 10 seconds worldwide (on average in 2022). So, if that doesn't prove its credibility, we don't know what to tell you.
