“Olamide Was Number One HipHop Artist Until I Came To The Scene” – Odumodublvck

Informationng 1 day ago

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, also known as OdumoduBlvck, has stirred a heated debate in the Nigerian music scene during an interview with Adesope on the Afrobeat podcast.

OdumoduBlvck, famous for his hit song “Wotowoto,” seized the moment to assert his rapping skills and make bold statements about his standing in the Nigerian hip-hop scene.

Looking back at the industry’s development, OdumoduBlvck noted that, prior to his own rise to fame, Olamide was seen as Nigeria’s leading hip-hop artist four years ago.

However, the rapper proudly declared that the landscape shifted when he entered the scene, confidently asserting himself as a leading figure in the rap game.

Discussing the importance of credibility in the industry, OdumoduBlvck stressed that anyone claiming to be the best rapper must have solid evidence, particularly an album, to back up their claim.

The rapper also spoke about his connection with fellow artist Speed Darlington. In an honest moment, OdumoduBlvck referred to Darlington as his “spirit animal” but made it clear that they were not friends.

During the interview, OdumoduBlvck revealed an intriguing personal encounter with international superstar Burna Boy.

The rapper shared that before meeting Burna Boy in person, he had a dream where they were dining together, enjoying pounded yam.

He amusingly recalled the dream, mentioning that when they eventually met, he told Burna Boy about it, and Burna Boy took the story in good humour.

In the interview shared on X Tuesday, he said, “Olamide has been the number one HipHop artist since the last four years until Odumodublvck came up to the scene, Wizkid was the first person to posts my music Picanto, Speed Darlington? Akpi is not my friend, that’s my spirit animal, him Burna Boy is my spirit animal—Skepta too. Before I met Burna Boy, I saw him in my dream, and we were eating pounded yam. Burna Boy told me that the day I saw him was the first time he had eaten pounded yam in two years.”
