As Arsenal continued their preparations for Sunday’s meeting with Manchester United at Old Trafford, Takehiro Tomiyasu was not spotted in training on Tuesday.

Tomiyasu who played the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, was nowhere to be seen on Tuesday as Mikel Arteta’s men trained at their Colney base.

However, summer signing Jurrien Timber was involved in Tuesday’s training.

Timber was left out of the matchday squad at the weekend, despite being in contention to make his long-awaited first-team return.

Should Tomiyasu fail to be part of the Arsenal contingent at Old Trafford on Sunday, a chance could therefore arise for Timber.
