Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has shared an audio of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, ordering his supporters to kill policemen and soldiers.

Omokri who was speaking out against Peter Obi’s call for Kanu’s release, tackled the former Anambra Governor for his statement.

Peter Obi addressed reporters in Onitsha on Saturday, June 29, and called on President Bola Tinubu to release the Biafra agitator from DSS detention.

He expressed his concern over the continuous detention of Mazi Kanu after the court had granted him bail.

“Government must obey the law as the rule of law is an intrinsic asset that we must cherish and live with. And I have always said that I am going to discuss with every agitator.

“I plead with with government to ensure that all those who are in similar conditions are released and discussed with. We are a democratic nation and we should not be doing things that are arbitrary and not within the law,” he said.

In response, Omokri shared an audio where Kanu was heard instructing supporters protesting in the south east to arm themselves with weapons.

“If the police move, you move them. You know that is what they used to say to us before, ‘If you move, I move you’. If the police try anything, get hold of them, kill them and burn down the police station.”

Meanwhile, Reno Omokri has been criticized for his double standard. In a post he made on February 18, 2023, Omokri stated that President Muhammadu Buhari would lose any moral authority for keeping Nnamdi Kanu in jail.

On March 27, 2023, Omokri further urged the incoming president to release Nnamdi Kanu and allow Sunday Igboho back into Nigeria.

Nigerians who were not pleased with Omokri’s recent statement queried him and released his previous posts where he support Kanu’s release.
