The United Gospel Association of Nations (UGCAN) has appointed Bishop Joseph Ighalo Edoro, Presiding Bishop, A Touch From Heaven Ministry International, has been appointed the Nigerian Chapter President, International Council of Apostles and Bishops for Africa Regeneration.

Presenting the letter of appointment during a simple, but solemn ceremony in Lagos penultimate Thursday, Bishop Dr Priscilla Onyemaechi Otuya, the UGCAN National President, maintained that the Church in Africa needs a regeneration.

She said the Nigerian Church has the divine mandate to reshape the Church in Arica for greater harvest for the Lord.

Bishop Otuya, however, stressed that to do this, many pastors need support, but lamented that there is a lot of infighting and corruption in the church, while urging church leaders and believers to restore the real worship in Africa, through Nigeria.

Bishop Otuya expressed worry that there is too much tribalism in the church, lamenting, “We profess, but we do not follow what we preach. It is not everybody that will be on the altar. Some will be in business.”

On democracy and governance, she asked, “If the Most High values the affairs of men, why do we leave Him out of the affairs of men?

“The church people are at a disadvantage. In Africa, people leave God out of politics, the government system. Democracy is a smokescreen.

“If one speaks against the government, one could be arrested and jailed. Every leader is a stooge. Nigeria has been living on a cradle made by the Europeans.

“There are apron strings tied to this nation. The Body of Christ has work to do. We need to take over the nation, but we are not ready. We have to honour Jesus Christ.”

Otuya informed that the International Council of Apostles and Bishops for Africa Regeneration will change the landscape of Nigeria, adding, “We are taking over this nation in a year’s time. Less of the noise making.”

Bishop Dr Joseph Ighalo Edoro, in his acceptance speech as Chapter President, said that Jesus Christ has been crying, but mankind has ignored Him.

He lamented that most men of God are businessmen in cassock, stressing, “A day is coming, very soon. You will not find Bibles in the market. It is time for regeneration.

“Only those who are of the old class and small will be there. The youths will take over. I plan to gather youths to teach them the truth.

“It is time for us to regenerate and refire. The harvest is rich, but the labourers are few. We will have a new order. We are not afraid.

“We must form a formidable force. It is time for us to raise men who know how to pray, how to regenerate and refire.”

Also, Dr Henry Emeka Obidi who was appointed the UGCAN Youth Leader, also received his letter of appointment at the same event.
