A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after crashing with a parked van in the Forest of Dean. Emergency services were called to the collision on the B4228, near to The Rising Sun pub in Woodcroft, at around 6.50am yesterday (Sunday, June 30).

The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man from Monmouthshire, was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Gloucestershire Police said he remains in a serious condition.

Investigating officers are now appealing to the public for information on the crash. They are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.

Gloucestershire Police said: "The road was closed for a number of hours whilst police conducted their investigation before reopening yesterday afternoon, and officers have thanked the local residents for their patience while this took place.

"Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage of the motorbike prior to the collision. Anybody with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the following online form, quoting incident 105 of 30 June."
