Her last ever tour wrap up at the London Palladium but the Sun exclusively revealed back in April she would give her final farewell appearance at the famous music event.

Lulu played her first and only gig at the festival nine years ago and bowed out with a huge set in the Field of Avalon where she was brought to tears by the reaction from the audience.

She told the crowd: “I’m going to try and hold it together because I want to sing my a** off”, as she began her Glastonbury set on Friday.

She took a second to compose herself following a loud wall of applause from the delighted festival crowd.

Lulu, whose ten Top Ten singles include Relight My Fire with Take That — which hit the top spot in 1993 — has said that playing at Worthy Farm was one of the best gigs of her career.

She also performed a cover of David Bowie’s song The Man Who Sold The World and said releasing a version helped her “start the process of reinventing” herself.

And before singing James Bond theme The Man With The Golden Gun, Lulu said she was “very happy to be a member of the 007 family”.

The legendary pop star wasn't the only famous Scot to join the Glasto vibes this weekend.

Younger fans who tuned into watch Dexy's set on the park stage might have been surprised to see the image of a naked Scotsman in the bath with a pint in his hand.

Ones of an older vintage not so much.

That's because Dexy's, known back in the day as Dexy's Midnight Runners, were performing their cover of Van Morrison's Jackie Wilson Said.

This references a 1982 performance of the song on Top of the Pops - where producers famously put a picture of Scottish world darts champion Jocky Wilson as the backdrop instead rather 50s American soul singer Jackie.
