Spanish footballer Eva Navarro, 23, has become Real Madrid’s new striker this Saturday for the next 2024/25 season, having signed for the merengue club from Atlético de Madrid, where she had played for the last two seasons.
She previously played for Levante UD, the club where she made her professional debut in 2018. “She has been a Spanish international since 2019 and was a world champion with the national team in 2023, as well as a European and world champion with Spain under-17s. Her list of achievements is completed with a Queen’s Cup,” Real Madrid noted on its website.
“Eva is a very fun person, who has set goals, who comes to this club to learn many things and hopefully win many titles,” Navarro herself declared, speaking in the third person about herself, to Real Madrid’s official media.
“Football came into my life when I was three years old, since my older brother instilled it in me. When I made the leap to play with the girls, I decided to play in Alicante and, with my parents driving an hour every day to take me, I realised that I wanted to be a professional, that I wanted to dedicate myself to this,” he recalled about his beginnings.
“For me, football is everything, it’s my life,” said the new Real Madrid striker. “It’s a dream that I think every footballer wants to play for this club and, when I have the opportunity that the club wants me, obviously I don’t think twice. “I’m lucky that everyone in my house is a Real Madrid fan and I’ve always watched Real Madrid win those Champions Leagues on TV,” he said of the senior men’s team’s successes. “The day I was able to sign my contract and see all the Champions Leagues they’ve won is a source of pride and a very beautiful thing about everything this club has achieved,” he said.
She also acknowledged that she wants to “score a lot of goals” and also “give the team a lot of speed.” “I think I’m a player who plays in several positions and I’m really looking forward to it. Above all, I’m really looking forward to meeting the teammates I’ve yet to meet. I already know many of them, in fact I’m friends with many of them,” said Navarro.
“I’m coming to this club with the luck of playing in the Champions League and obviously winning all the titles that can be won. I can’t imagine the day when I have to dress up, go out on the pitch and play a few minutes; I just want that day to come, to enjoy it to the fullest,” predicted the brand new Real Madrid striker just before sending a message to her new fans.
