Levy, Mwiinde recommence defamation suit against Jay Jay, 3 others

President Hakainde Hichilema’s Political Advisor Levy Ngoma and UPND’s Trevor Mwiinde have recommenced a matter in which they are seeking damages for defamation from attempted murder-accused Emmanuel Jay Banda and three others. Ngoma and Mwiinde, who is UPND Deputy National Youth Chairperson, had sued Banda, who is Petauke Central Independent MP, Zambian Whistle Blower owner Thomas Allan Zgambo, NDC leader Saboi Imboela and her PeP counterpart Sean Tembo, seeking compensatory damages for defamation of character, among other reliefs. But Lusaka High Court Judge Ruth Chibbabbuka ruled that the action was not properly commenced and that she had no jurisdiction to entertain it.
