Summary

  • Now You See Me 3 finally gets a release date after years of waiting.
  • Original stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman return,
  • They will be joined by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike.

The highly anticipated sequel in the magic-heist franchise, Now You See Me 3, has now been given a release date. Lionsgate has now announced that the threequel will appear in theaters November 14, 2025, with Zombieland and Uncharted filmmaker Ruben Fleischer on board to direct. It has now been almost a decade since audiences embarked on a high-stakes adventure with the Four Horsemen, and Deadline has confirmed several more details about the long-awaited follow-up.

While plot details for Now You See Me 3 remain as secret as how a magician does their tricks, it has been confirmed that original stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman will reprise their roles in the sequel. The latest outing will add several more major names to the cast, with Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike set for new roles.

Currently, there are no other high-profile projects set for release on the same day as Now You See Me 3, but November 2025 otherwise looks like a pretty stacked month, with the likes of the MCU Blade reboot, director Yorgos Lanthimos Bugonia starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, the Disney sequel Zootopia 2, and the second part of the big screen adaptation of Wicked all set for release next year.

Released back in 2013 and directed by Louis Leterrier, the first Now You See Me introduces audiences to the magic underworld and follows magician Atlas and his team of talented illusionists known as the Four Horsemen. The group perform hypnotic magic tricks while carrying out social justice at the same time, and find themselves being chased by the FBI, Interpol, a magic debunker, and a corrupt insurance magnate.

While Now You See Me was met with mixed reviews from critics (standing at 50% on Rotten Tomatoes), the movie was a huge box office success, grossing $351.7 million worldwide against a budget of $75 million. This spawned a sequel, Now You See Me 2, in 2016, which once again finds the Four Horsemen in trouble, this time in Macau, China.

Jesse Eisenberg sheds some light on how the Now You See Me franchise has helped him personally.

Now You See Me 2 was met with even worse reviews from critics (33% on Rotten Tomatoes) but once again grossed a massive $334 million at the worldwide box office. The franchise has since become a fan-favorite among audiences, with many excited to see what further tricks the Four Horsemen have up their respective sleeves.

For Ruben Fleischer, the filmmaker cannot wait to combine the talents of Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson with all manner of mesmerizing magic in Now You See Me 3.

“There are three things in this world I absolutely love… Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and magic. To have the chance to work with these two talented actors, as well as rest of the incredible cast of the ‘Now You See Me’ movies is a dream come true. I am a lifelong fan of heist movies – I love getting drawn in by the twists and the mystery where nothing is what it seems. And that’s even more true when the thieves are magicians – the opportunities are endless. Eric was able to unlock a fresh and exciting way into a new movie and fun new characters, so I’m excited to dig in even further.”

Once again, Now You See Me 3 is due to be released in theaters on November 14, 2025.
