Governor Radda Hosts Subnational Convergence on SDGs in Nigeria

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, this afternoon hosted the first-ever Subnational Convergence on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria.

The Katsina Impact Convergence marks a significant milestone in the state’s pursuit of the United Nations’ SDGs.

The event took place at the Shehu Musa Yaradua Centre Abuja.

This Convergence points to Governor Dikko’s dedication to charting a transformative course towards a prosperous, equitable and environmentally sustainable future for Katsina State.

According to Governor Radda, “The SDGs offer the state a comprehensive blueprint for holistic and inclusive development.

And by hosting this convergence, Katsina State is not only demonstrating its commitment to these goals but also creating a platform for collaboration and innovation that will drive meaningful impact across the state.”

The Katsina Impact Convergence, organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals and Development Partners, and funded by World Bank Agile Projects, sets a precedent for subnational engagement with the SDGs in Nigeria.

The event brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including government officials, private sector representatives and community leaders.

The interactive sessions and engaging presentations focused on key areas such as poverty alleviation ICT, education, healthcare, gender equality and climate action.
