Mark Consuelos may have “Terminator vision” when it comes to women, but most men do not, according to Kelly Ripa.

On today’s Live with Kelly and Mark, the two honored National Compliment Your Mirror Day, as they pulled out handheld mirrors during their host chat. Eventually, Ripa shared that she “filmed [her]self putting on [her] upper lip” backstage with a “fascinating” trick she discovered on social media.

“Now that I’m looking in this magnifying mirror, I see all of the mistakes I made, and I could’ve used this backstage,” she said.

Consuelos took a look, praising Ripa’s work as “not bad at all” and “really good.”

“I see what you’ve done, and it shows like a plumper top lip,” he continued.

Ripa revealed that she learned the tip on Instagram, but claimed that she lacks the “level of makeup artistry” to paint her entire upper lip brown like those she learned from on Instagram do.

“So what I’ve been doing is taking a brown eyeliner and I trace on the outside of my lip line, and then I fill it in. And then I take a regular, like, MAC Spice, or whatever your lip liner of choice, and then I trace outside of that,” she explained. “So it’s like a double layer, so I’m basically manufacturing a lip line.”

Consuelos said her makeup “really looks beautiful,” but Ripa teased that it’s “alarming” when she takes her make-up off.

“Like I was me, and now I’m Gollum, and where did I go?” she quipped.

However, Consuelos claimed men have the ability to “know” women’s authentic appearances, likening the power to Arnold Schwarzenegger walking through the city in The Terminator.

“We know what you actually look like in real life. We look at you and we’re like, ‘Ok, so she’s not that tall because she’s wearing seven-inch stilettos,” he shared, as he mimicked machine noises processing the information. “And the upper lip, she draws outside the lines. The actual lip is like that. So when she takes off the makeup, that’s what I’m going to be dealing with.”

Ripa replied, “You’re going to be dealing with?”

Consuelos clarified, “Not dealing with. That’s who I’m marrying. I’m not marrying this whole thing.”

Nonetheless, Ripa highlighted that she “had an upper lip” when they got married. Eventually, Consuelos reiterated that men have this “innate” ability, to which Ripa teased, “Oh, I know a lot of guys that have been fooled.”

“I’m glad that you have Terminator vision, but we can all agree, thank God most men do not,” she concluded.
