A waterfront village boasting some of the region's best food and drink has confirmed its return. MediaCityUK has relaunched its popular outdoor dining concept with Kargo on the Docks at Salford Quays - and there's a number of new additions.

The concept, run by neighbouring food hall operators Kargo, will be home to pop-ups serving up everything from Neapolitan pizzas and burgers to fried chicken. It will also feature brand-new installations by Salford-based artists and boast a packed schedule of events.

For the first time, Honey Butter Ring Hut, operated by pizza pros Leopard Pie will be serving their Neapolitan pizzas from one of the shipping containers. Other new food offerings include Parmogeddon, bringing fried chicken, while so Famous and Block Steak Shop will be cooking up burgers, and ThatZiki will be opening their second MediaCity location.

Over the past few weeks, artists including Fernandes Makes, Kelly Ma and Caroline Daly have returned to MediaCity to adorn the newly added shipping containers with collaborative artworks and installations.

A brand-new art trail display has also been installed throughout the gardens, featuring artwork from MikeSian Studio, A Studio Called Jane, Luke Passey and Tasha Whittle.

Caroline Aikman, Director of Marketing, Brand and Place for MediaCity, commented: “Kargo on the Docks will provide a new space for our growing number of residents, workers, students and visitors to enjoy great local food and art in a vibrant, green outdoor setting.

"Sourcing and nurturing, local, emerging talent sits at the heart of MediaCity and Quayside’s ethos and Kargo on the Docks is set to continue that legacy, while adding another exciting dimension to MediaCity’s indie offering.”

Matt Bigland, Founder and CEO of Blend Family who operates the new look Kargo on the Docks, added: “This is an exciting development for us and we’re looking forward to bringing all that Kargo offers to MediaCity in a brand-new format.

"The success of Kargo.MKT and Kargo Go has paved the way for this new venture and we’re pleased to be expanding our incredible line-up of food vendors on offer at MediaCity and Quayside.”

There will also be a range of pop-up events hosted at the venue throughout the summer, with more announcements set to be made in the coming months.

Kargo on the Docks will be open Tuesday to Sunday, with food served from 11.30am-9pm and the bar operating between 10am-11pm.
