Sergio García, captain of the Fireballs GC team, will return next week to the Real Club Valderrama (Cádiz) with the intention of “winning” in what he called his “favorite course”, in the tenth LIV Golf scoring tournament that will begin on Friday day 12.

The 44-year-old player from Castellón stated, in statements released by the organization, that "practically every time" that he has played there he has "done very well, which always helps." García has won three times at Valderrama, in 2011, 2017 and 2018 in the Andalucía Masters, a tournament that, since the arrival of LIV to this course last year, changed venue to the neighboring Real Club Sotogrande, both located in the municipality of San Roque (Cádiz).

Sergio is “looking forward to seeing the Spanish public” cheering him and his teammates, the Spaniards Eugenio López Chacarra and David Puig and the Mexican Abraham Ancer. Sergio García recalled that he “practically” doubles the age of the first two and that he is more than ten years older than Ancer, although he pointed out that he “always learns from them.

He tries to help them, but at the same time I see the good things they do. See the potential they have and how they evolve,” he stressed. The winner of the Augusta Masters in 2017 was happy to be in a “young team,” which “motivates him a lot”.

“Being the oldest with a young team full of talent is always nice. The only thing I tell you is to enjoy the game. Obviously, you have to play with your head, but try to enjoy it as much as possible and have a good time,” he stated.

The one from Borriol assured that each game week is “different” and that his team will arrive at Valderrama with the “best expectations”, in addition to the hope of “doing it as best as possible” and “giving the Spaniards a lot to celebrate".

The LIV Golf Andalucía will have the presence in San Roque of 14 Grand Slam tournament champions and alongside García there will also be Jon Rahm (Legion XIII), the Americans Brooks Koepka (Smash GC), Bryson De Chambeau (Crushers GC), Dustin Johnson (4Aces GC), Phil Mickelson (HyFlyers GC) and Bubba Watson (RangeGoats GC), and Australian Cameron Smith (Ripper GC) among other great golfers.
