Police have laid 29 additional charges against a man believed to be one of New South Wales’ biggest self-producers of online bestiality content.

The man was arrested by detectives from Strike Force Trawler who are investigating the online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

Events began in February when police raided properties across the greater Sydney area targeting online child abuse material. Investigations led them to the online profile of a user under the pseudonym ‘Beast Boy’.

Further inquiries found ‘Beast Boy’ had a large online presence and used encrypted messaging apps to allegedly share bestiality material.

The content featured the sexual abuse of various animals, such as dogs, sheep, goats, chickens and a dead kangaroo.

Later, on April 30, a police arrested a 38-year-old man during a raid in Moorland, about 30km north of Taree, on the state’s Mid North Coast.

A dog missing for about five years was also recovered by the RSPCA and returned to its owner.

The man was charged with 20 offences and remains before the courts.

Following further investigations and the analysis of seized electronics and hard drives, investigators allegedly identified thousands of videos and images of bestiality and child abuse material and an additional 29 offences will be laid at court today when he fronts court today.

They include bestiality, animal cruelty and possessing child abuse material.

Inquiries under Strike Force Trawler continue.
