Residents of Gesse 111, Bayan Oando lauds Gov Idris for donating new transformer

The residents of Gesse III, Bayan Oando, Birnin Kebbi have expressed gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris for acceding to their request for an electricity transformer to replace the desolate one in their community.

Receiving the Transformer at the headquarters of the Rural Electrification Board in Birnin Kebbi today, the Ward Head of the community Alhaji Faruk Hamisu noted that the gesture came timely when the old transformer had almost packed off leading to outages and throwing the entire neighborhood into long period of darkness.

He commended the Governor for his timely response to issues concerning the people and the promptness of his action. According to him, the new transformer will help solve the problems which the old transformer has caused and for which the area has been battling to solve in view of the difficulties inherent in it.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner of Information and Culture Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi who who is one of the elders of the benefiting community said the Nasir Idris administration is a people oriented government elected into office on the crest of its promises to make life better for the people.

While urging the community to protect the transformer and ensure its judicious use. He also appealed to them to support the government in its drive to fulfill its promises to the people.

The Commissioner assured the people of the state of the commitment of the Nasir Idris administration to easing the problems of the people through responsive, transparent and pro people governance.

Present at the handing over process were directors of the Rural Electricity Board, REB, including the Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Illela and the Secretary of the Bayan Oando Development Association, Alhaji Umar Faruk among others.

It will be recalled that Governor Nasir Idris in June, commissioned forty new transformers purchased by Kebbi State Government to improve electricity supply in the state.
