AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Destination Augusta and the Augusta Sports Council project the month of July and its events to generate over $20 million in estimated economic impact.

In addition to revenue, the events expect to have over 16,000 people visit the CSRA.

In a press release, the organizations said, “Both Destination Augusta and the Augusta Sports Council agree that recruiting and hosting these various activities play a critical role in sustaining the nearly 30,000 jobs that are part of the Leisure and Hospitality Industry, the fourth largest employment sector in the metro area.”

The 2024 NIKE EYBL Peach Jam is expected to bring in $15 million alone, with over 8,000 estimated attendees for this year. That event is being held July 13 through July 21 in North Augusta, S.C.

Other events include the 2024 USA Cycling Juniors and Masters Road National Championship, 103rd Georgia Amateur Championship, Augusta University’s New Student Orientation and several large family reunions and conferences.

According to Destination Augusta and the Augusta Sports Council, the total estimated economic impact, also known as (EEI), is calculated based on research commissioned by both Explore Georgia and Destinations International. It is done in conjunction with other research vendors to provide analysis on data that is gathered annually.
