The World Igbo Congress (WIC) in the United States of America has commiserated with the Ancient Ohafia Kingdom on the passage of His Royal Paramountcy, Professor U. L. Imaga.

The apex Igbo body in the United States said the death of the highly revered monarch came to them as a rude shock, saying his death is a monumental loss not only to the Ancient Ohafia Kingdom but to Ndigbo in general.

A press statement signed by Dr. Festus Okere, SK, the Chairman of World Igbo Congress, said the Udumeze of Ohafia, the Eze Ohamoha of Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, would be greatly missed.

The WIC said; “The news of the demise of the great warrior and erudite Royal Paramountcy of the Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, Professor Emmanuel U. L. Imaga, The Udumeze of Ohafia, came to us as a shock.

“This is a monumental loss to the entire Ohafia Community and the Igbo Nation at large. Time and space will not permit us to effectively enumerate all the great contributions of this noble son of the great Igbo Nation, but we shall not fail to mention the zeal and commitment of the Great Udumeze Ohafia towards a united Igbo front and the unwavering protection of his subjects.

“The late HRP, Professor E.U.L. Imaga, epitomized the best craftsmanship in weaving together education, tradition and religion to achieve effective leadership of his people.

“Ohafia is reported to have experienced peace and prosperity during the reign of The Great Udumeze Ohafia. We shall miss him sorely. We condole with his immediate family and the great Ohafia Community, and indeed, Ndi Igbo.

“Adieu, HRP Professor Emmanuel U. L. Imaga. May your soul rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.”
