Olupona Students' Union Distributes Socks to Pupils

The Federation of Olupona Students’ Union on July 5, 2024, distributed 1,000 pairs of socks to students at primary schools across Olupona. The programme tagged “Socks Initiative” was an attempt to give back to the society the students came from.

Gbotemi Adigun, President of the Union, highlighted the inspiration behind the initiative, noting that many students were observed attending school without socks.

Gbotemi Adigun said: “We realized these students’ kits were incomplete without socks, and we saw this as something that needed to be addressed. With the aid of donors and the Union, we were able to acquire and distribute 1,000 pairs of socks for the students’ use, and we hope they will make good use of them.

He also made known the intention of the union to contribute its quota to the development of the town. Beneficiaries were from 15 public and private schools including St Peter’s Primary School, Tawuun Primary School, Success Primary School, Adigun Elementary School, DC Primary School, Owland Primary School, Normadic Primary School and Alaya Primary School.

The Union also expressed its commitment to contributing to the overall development of the town, with this initiative being one of many planned efforts to support the local community.
