Without a doubt, scoring against Yankees Luis Gil when all his players faltered against him is a statement of his sheer form. Speaking about the game post-match, Rafael Devers said, “We know what type of ballpark this is. This is one of the best in the league. Everything feels better than any other ballpark.” Indeed, it seems he loves the Yankees stadium more than any other venue. The reason? At the venue, he has hit 16 homers and a staggering 28 against the New York Yankees. Regarding the stats, he is hitting at .463 with seven homers and ten RBIs in his last 10 games at the Yankees stadium.

In the game against the Yankees, Devers gave the Red Sox an early lead. He took on the fastball from Luis Gil and dispatched it to the opposite field, beating the left-field players. Rest with his two homers, especially the 423-foot in the ninth innings, sealed the game for the Red Sox. Additionally, it was his 20th homer of the year and 11th against the Bronx. This is the most Red Sox’s history by any other player.

Currently, he is just 27 years old, and in his ninth innings, Rafael Devers got his 21st long ball of the 2024 season and the 16th player visiting the Bronx stadium.  Before him, Ken Griffey Jr., Manny Machado, and Evan Longoria were the players who recorded three homers against the Yankees in the last 50 years. Additionally, as the team is riding high on Rafael Dever’s back, a few more stars are waiting for the elusive All-Stars selection.

Red Sox’s All-Star selections have two first-time names

Defeating the Yankees in a series clash, the Boston Red Sox are riding high on confidence. Bearing the fruits of their hard work, their players will be represented at the ‘2024 MLB All-Star Game’ in Arlington, Texas. Currently, the team has three all-star players, and Rafael Devers is the obvious choice. Tanner Houck and Jarren Duran will join him for the iconic team selection.

All three Boston players were added after the player’s ballot choice and selection by the Major League’s commissioner’s office. Aside from Rafael Devers’ success, the other two Boston rising stars have also shown their caliber. Duran has shown his 2023 form, establishing himself as a dynamic player in the Red Sox lineup. The 27-year-old Boston outfielder entered the game against the Yankees with impressive numbers. He is batting at .278, scoring 10 homers, and has a healthy 40 RBIs.

On the other hand, Houck earned the first All-Star selection after being the leader of Boston’s rotation in the initial three months. He’s 28 years old, scoring at 7-6 through his 18 season starts. Also, he has an impressive ERA of 2.68, along with 106 strikeouts and 23 walks over his last 111.0 innings. What’s more? He ranks fifth in the overall American League in terms of his ERA numbers.

Ultimately, the 2024 All-Star Game is all set to be held on July 16. The venue will be the Globe Life Park, and the first pitching is set for 8:00 PM. For the Boston Red Sox, their players have truly proved themselves. Especially Rafael Devers, who has crushed a team like the Yankees, most of the time he visited the Bronx, needed some bravery and skills.
