The Lahluna Bed & Breakfast: This Family-Friendly B&B Is Inspired by The Hobbiton in New Zealand

wheninmanila.com 2 days ago

With the noise of the city, intense pollution from many congested areas, and screens constantly bombarding us left and right, it’s always a good idea to take a break and go on a weekend retreat! Got kids you want to bring along for fresh air and a serene nature experience? Here’s a family-friendly retreat that’s only a 2-hour drive from Metro Manila!

The Lahluna Bed & Breakfast is quietly tucked away in Silang, Cavite, and is just a few minutes away from the Tagaytay City center. But if you stay on the property, you wouldn’t think that one of the busiest tourist spots in the country is just around the corner.

This bed & breakfast features multiple dome “houses” that will guarantee your family some privacy during your stay.

You might notice that the dome-style tiny homes look like a modern version of the Hobbit house from The Lord of the Rings movies—that’s because the property was inspired by The Hobbiton Movie Set in New Zealand! The Lahluna Bed & Breakfast added a modern twist to the iconic movie setting.

The little dome houses feature all-white exteriors and interiors with lush greenery growing in front, around, and on top of the domes.

On the way to the property, just be prepared for just a few minutes of rough and muddy road, but hopefully the road will be paved soon according to the property’s owners.

The multiple tiny houses can accommodate 4 to 6 people, making them the perfect weekend homes for families.

We got to stay in their biggest room, good for 6 people. It’s a loft-type room with complete essentials for a relaxing staycation.

Upon entering the room, there’s a comfy living area with two couches and a coffee table (with children’s books and puzzles inside!). There’s also a dining table for 4 people, plus a complete and spacious kitchen.

The kitchen already includes a mid-sized refrigerator, a stove, rice cooker, water kettle, cookware, and dinnerware enough for the whole family. If you’re planning to stay for the whole weekend, we recommend you bring food to cook in case you don’t want to face the Tagaytay weekend traffic.

There’s also more than enough space for a cute and cozy teepee that your little ones will surely love. The Lahluna also provides some toys and children’s books, so you don’t even have to worry about keeping the kids occupied.

Tucked in the loft are double beds and two pull-out single beds, providing enough comfortable space for 6 adults to sleep in.

There may not be a TV in the loft, but that’s what makes The Lahluna a great escape from the busyness and city noise. It’s an amazing space for peaceful retreats and for reconnecting with nature.

Of course, you don’t have to be stuck inside the loft to enjoy your stay at The Lahluna.

Outside, on the property’s grounds, there are hammocks, a trampoline, and a couple of swings right outside some rooms.

There’s also a cute stationary bike on the roof deck for photos, as well as an outdoor dining table that offers the perfect spot for star gazing.

You can even take a refreshing dip in their garden pool. It has a heater so you can enjoy your swim even during Tagaytay’s cold days.

And to really top off your weekend nature staycation, the whole family can check out the many ducks on the property, and even go horseback riding (with an additional fee of PHP 500) with The Lahluna’s very own horse!

Personally, I loved how the property allowed us to reconnect with nature. I found my body clock went back to normal after just two nights at The Lahluna Bed & Breakfast! Plus, we truly felt well-rested and energized after our stay.

The Lahluna Bed & Breakfast is truly a great property for your weekend family staycations or romantic weekend getaways, especially when you just want to get away from the stresses and noise of the city. Just a little over an hour’s drive, and you’ll be transported to this magical nature escape.
