King Charles Sidesteps Calls to Shield Kate; Her Well-Being Remains a Mystery

After being out of the public eye for several months, the Princess of Wales, who was previously known as Kate Middleton, made her first public appearance at this year’s Trooping the Colour after sharing her cancer diagnosis. When she announced her attendance, Prince William’s wife mentioned that she’s “not fully recovered yet.” She added, “My treatment is ongoing and will last for a few more months.

Kate wrote on Instagram, “On the days I feel well, I enjoy participating in school activities, spending time on things that give me energy and positivity, and doing some work from home. I look forward to attending the king’s birthday parade and hope to join some public events over the summer, but I’m aware I’m not fully recovered yet.”

Many people are hoping for more updates on Kate’s health in the coming weeks and months. However, a royal expert says this won’t happen because King Charles has decided not to let his daughter-in-law make any new announcements. For those who wanted more news about the Princess of Wales after her appearance at Trooping the Colour, royal expert Ian Pelham Turner said the Palace won’t be giving any. He explained that the family will stay “silent” about Kate’s treatment and progress to protect her.

“The truth is nobody really knows how Kate is doing,” Turner told Fox News Digital. “There are many rumors from people trying to advance their careers. But in reality, when the royal family wants to keep things private, they are very experienced at it.”

He added that the princess is the royal family’s greatest asset, so the king will do everything to protect her privacy. “Kate is considered by the global press as the royal family’s most valuable member,” Turner noted. “She is seen as the top royal … ensuring the future stability of the monarchy.” Turner is right that no one knows for sure how Kate is doing, but some saw her last appearance as a positive sign.

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard thinks that Kate is doing better with her treatment after seeing her on the balcony with the rest of the working royals during King Charles’ birthday parade.

Chard said that the princess “has a renewed enthusiasm for life. She is grateful for the public’s love, which has given her a huge boost. She was very happy to support her family and be back on duty. Duty and service are very important to her, and she performed her duties with courage, dignity, and strength. Cancer brings people closer together. The whole royal family looked united and stronger than ever on the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour.”
