The wait is over! The highly anticipated free-to-play action RPG, The First Descendant, is finally here. Players flocked to pre-download the game, eager to jump into the action on launch day, but some of them encountering performance issue, stuttering or lags. Read on if you want to know how to optimize your settings for a smooth gameplay experience.
Before diving in, ensure your PC meets the minimum or recommended system requirements and check for the latest graphic card drivers. While the game might auto-adjust graphics, here are some settings to optimize your experience. Remember, you can always experiment and mix-and-match advanced options to find the perfect balance.
If your graphics card isn't top-of-the-line, turn off Upscale Type in the graphics settings. This reduces the workload on your GPU. Set your frame rate limiter to a maximum of 60 FPS. This helps maintain a better experience, especially on less powerful machines. Begin with all graphic settings on Low. If the game runs smoothly, try incrementally increasing individual settings (like textures or shadows) to find the best balance between visuals and performance.
Sometimes connection issues, especially on a brand new game with high player traffic, can cause lag spikes. To minimize the risk, try playing on the recommended server. Remember, The First Descendant is fresh out the gate, so some connection hiccups are to be expected.
