McKenzie Health System in Sanilac County, Mich., is pleased to introduce a new addition to their team at McKenzie Family Healthcare in Sandusky. Shaina Martin, MSN, FNP-BC, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to community health as she steps into her role as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner.
Education and Experience
Shaina obtained her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on child advocacy from the University of South Carolina – Upstate. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul before completing her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner at Spring Arbor University. With more than six years of nursing experience in various clinical settings, including acute care, ICU, PAT, Perioperative, OR, Homecare, and department management, Shaina brings a diverse skill set to her new role.
Personal Background and Motivation
A native of Croswell, Shaina's journey back to her hometown after years of education and exploration reflects her deep roots in the community. Her passion for nursing was inspired by her grandmother, a nurse practitioner, whose dedication to healthcare left a lasting impact on Shaina. This influence led Shaina to pursue a career in nursing with a focus on community care.

Shaina is eager to start her new position and is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving her community. She shares, "Having been a part of this community for two decades, I have witnessed the incredible support and unity that define this area. I look forward to providing compassionate care to the individuals in our community."
