COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — An ongoing feud in Ohio led to a 13-year-old child being shot, according to court documents.

The shooting happened Friday afternoon in Columbus. Charging documents for Cameron Tyler, 23, accuse him of firing a gun at a woman's car and hitting the 13-year-old in the backseat.

The victim's mother told police that she allegedly saw him fire the gun. She said he lived across the street from her boyfriend, and the two had been fighting for the past couple of months.

The mom drove her wounded child to the hospital, where she is expected to recover.

Police charged Tyler with three counts of felonious assault and are currently searching for him.

You might think, 'Well, this situation doesn't apply to me,' but unfortunately, we have a suspect on the loose who discharged a firearm in a neighborhood in broad daylight that struck a child. That person has the potential to strike someone else,” Sgt. James Fuqua with Columbus Police said.

Tyler was in court last month for misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and aggravated menacing, accused of pointing a gun at his father.
