The Ugreen Nexode Pro 100W USB-C is a pretty compact charger. It only measures 7.1 x 4.3 x 3.2 cm and weighs 195.23 grams. In comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs 252.91 grams, making it around 50 grams heavier than the charger. The Ugreen Nexode Pro 100W just feels denser because it has a smaller footprint than the iPhone.

It weighs almost double than the dual-port charger that the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air and is substantially longer and thicker. However, it’s almost three times more powerful, as the Apple charger only has a 35-watt output.

The charger also comes with a folding plug mechanism, allowing it to stay compact when unused and prevent it from poking holes into your bag or pants. However, that means you also need a snug outlet to prevent the adapter from falling off. If you plug it into a poorly constructed or old loose outlet, it might fall off or refuse to attach. You might also have trouble plugging it into tight spaces.

This Ugreen charger offers three USB ports—two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. As per usual, the 100 watts indicated on the packaging is the total output of the charger. So, if you plug three devices into it, it will divide its power output accordingly. So, if you use the Ugreen Nexode Pro to charge one device at a time, these are the maximum power outputs you will get at each port:

USB-C2: 30 watts

USB-A: 22.5 watts

Note that these are the maximum outputs for each port. The actual power output will still depend on your device’s capability and the charging cable that you use. But when you plug multiple devices into the charger, it will start rationing its power output to stay within its limits. This how it manages its output when charging multiple devices simultaneously:

The USB-C1 port is suitable for high-powered devices like laptops. It can supply the power most laptops need at 100W when plugged alone. And while it will lower to 65W if you charge another device at the same time, it’s still an acceptable rate, especially if you don’t have a high-performance computer.

How Much Power Does the Charger Use?

One of the things that many users don’t notice is how much power is lost during the charging process. After all, no charging brick is perfect, and the laws of physics dictate there will always be some loss during energy transfer.

So, we checked the adapter’s power consumption by plugging it into our smart plug with a digital watt meter, plus we used our USB cables that show how many watts it’s currently delivering to my devices. We also used a thermal camera to see how much heat the charger is emitting while powering all my gear.

According to our equipment, the Ugreen Nexode Pro 100W delivered 71.7 watts to three devices: 61 watts via USB-C1, 6.8 watts from USB-C2, and 3.9 watts on the USB-A port. At the same time, the smart plug measure 93 watts being drawn from the outlet. This translates to a 77% power efficiency, which is about on par with other GaN chargers of its size.

The nearly 23% power loss is then translated to heat on the charger, which hit a peak of 76.8 degrees on our thermal camera. That's a pretty hot temperature, and you shouldn't keep it near flammable material (like cloth or paper) when charging. We also don't recommend holding it for a long time after charging three devices—let it cool down first to avoid burning yourself.
