Celtic’s win over Dundee was a tense affair after Tony Docherty’s men pulled a goal back with just under fifteen minutes to play.

James Forrest’s double seemed to have put Celtic on easy street and all Brendan Rodgers‘ side had to do was hold out to ensure that a nervy ending wasn’t on the cards at Dens Park.

As it happened, Forrest was taken off and for the second week in a row, Celtic conceded right after the legend left the field of play.

Now, whilst I am not suggesting taking Forrest off is the reason we allowed Dundee to pull a goal back, Pat Bonner is positive he knows who is to blame for making the final 16 minutes of the game hard to watch for the Celtic supporters.

Idah ‘out of the game’ defending corners for Celtic

Whilst the big Irishman has, rightly, been lauded for his goalscoring exploits since making the loan move to Glasgow, Bonner was less than impressed with Idah’s decision-making when defending corners for Celtic.

Bonner said [Scottish Football Podcast], “I want to go back to the to the corner and the goal.

“I can’t believe that Adam Idah has gone into the near post area when he’s six foot whatever and he’s got to be picking up that six-yard box where the ball was landing in and he can deal with it.

“He was the last man coming out. He’s almost out of the game for those corners.”

Defending corners, set pieces and any type of crossed ball has definitely been a weakness for Celtic this season under Rodgers.

Against Aberdeen, the deficiencies we have at the back were brutally exposed by a team who have been fighting relegation all season.

At the very least, we should have our tallest and most physical players marking the opposition at these crucial periods of the game and, hopefully, Rodgers will identify that as an area to improve over the next four games of the league season.
