With Celtic’s potential business in the transfer market grabbing all the headlines of late, the fans are desperate to hear of any impeding or potential incomings that could help strengthen the Hoops’ first team.

Brendan Rodgers will undoubtedly be hard at work wheeling and dealing to get the right people in to improve the team on the park but work has also been going on behind the scenes at the club as well.

Darren O’Dea was promoted to the position of Player Pathway Manager to strengthen the progression of youth players from the academy and Celtic B and the senior first-team.

The club also recently appointed Mark Cooper to help improve Celtic’s global scouting network back in May of this year.

But that is not the only area of the club that has seen movement this summer.

Celtic appoint Joanne McNairn as Club Secretary

Celtic have appointed Joanne McNairn as the club after Michael Duffy left the position yesterday.

Duffy was hired in 2021 to take over from Michael Nicholson who was the interim Secretary after the untimely departure of CEO, Dom McKay.

After Duffy’s appointment, Nicholson took up the role as Celtic’s CEO which brought stability behind the scenes at the club.

As per Companies House, Celtic announced the departure of Duffy yesterday and the subsequent appointment of McNairn.

McNairn has been involved at Celtic for over 23 years. A former Trading Standards Officer at Renfrewshire Council, McNairn was appointed Celtic’s Brand Protection Manager in 2001.

After over 16 years in the role, McNairn was drafted in as the DPO and Compliance Manager in a role she served for over seven years.

Now appointed officially as the Company Secretary, McNairn will undertake a role where she will be involved in contractual and legal matters as well as organising affairs for the board. [LinkedIn]
