Inmate dead at Washington State Prison, investigation underway
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An inmate was found dead at the Washington State Prison, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Torrey Forrester was found dead on Monday. The cause of death has not been released, and the Georgia Department of Corrections says there are no reports of an altercation.
Forrester’s body was turned over to the county coroner and will be transported to the GBI crime lab to determine the official cause of death.
The death is being investigated by the GDC’s Office of Professional Standards and the investigation is ongoing.
Forrester was serving three years for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine out of Catoosa County with a maximum release date of March 2025.
