Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting during a domestic violence incident in Hartford over the weekend that left a woman in critical condition.

Chuncy Webb, 37, has been charged with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm and negligent storage of a firearm, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

Boisvert said officers responded to an address on Charter Oak Place just before 2 a.m. Sunday on the report of a shooting and found a woman in her 20s suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Boisvert said investigators discovered the shooting occurred during a domestic incident and immediately began working to find the shooter. Webb was identified as a suspect before detectives with the Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Webb was located in the evening hours Sunday and taken into custody by members of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit. He was held on a $875,000 bond and was expected to be arraigned on Monday in Hartford Superior Court.
