Nairobi - The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has successfully rescued a seven-year-old boy.

In a statement on Friday, July 5, the investigative agency revealed that the young boy was rescued by detectives based at DCI Dagoretti.

The police said the boy was found in the Ruku area, stating the abductor to be 33-year-old Juston Musundu.

According to the operatives, Musundu was found in possession of incriminating items that were used in the abduction.

"Detectives based at DCI Dagoretti successfully rescued a 7-year-old boy and arrested the culprit behind his abduction that took place on June 30, 2024, in Kawangware.
After days of relentless pursuit, the boy was found in the Ruku area of Wangige, and the suspect, Juston Musundu, 33, was arrested in possession of different SIM cards and mobile handsets used by him to cover his trails," reported DCI.

How was Nairobi boy kidnapped

DCI explained that the seven-year-old was taken on Sunday, June 30, from the church where his father worked.

The child's abduction triggered a frantic effort by the detectives, with the boy's cleric-father enduring days of agony.

"On the fateful day, the victim was abducted within the precincts of his father’s church, Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Congo area of Kawangware to the agony of the clergyman's family," added the police.

Mother busted waiting for KSh 1m ransom to release daughter

Elsewhere, two young girls who went missing on Wednesday, May 22, in Eldoret, were found. It was established that the mother of one of the girls was involved in orchestrating the kidnapping and demanding a ransom of KSh 1 million.

The two children, 9-year-old Kelsy Wambui and 3-year-old Mary Njoki went missing after visiting a friend on Wednesday, May 22.

According to Kamau, signals traced by the DCI revealed that the phone belonging to Kelsy Wambui's mother was used in executing the kidnapping.
