Two people arrested after West Virginia woman dies in Texas shooting

POLK COUNTY, TX (WVNS) — Two people were arrested after a woman from Bluefield, West Virginia was killed in a shooting in Texas on June 15, 2024.

65-year-old Robin Crum, and 46-year-old Christopher Crum, both of Livingston, Texas, were arrested and charged on Friday, June 21, 2024 with Felony Murder.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, their office received calls about a shooting in Polk County on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Detectives, Deputies, the Segno Fire Department, and EMS responded to the scene where they found 38-year-old Jillian Rasnick, of Bluefield, West Virginia dead from a gunshot wound. Terri Mayer, Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, helped with the investigation, and also ordered an autopsy of Rasnick that would be done by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

During the investigation, it was discovered that an argument between Rasnick and the homeowner led to the shooting.

The investigation, done by Polk County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, with help from the Texas Rangers Office, the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Polk County District Attorney’s Office, remains in progress.

Robin and Christopher Crum are being held in the Polk County Jail on bond. Robin Crum’s bond is $50,000 and Christopher Crum’s bond is $200,000.
