The State of Palestine has called on the international community and the United Nations to launch an impartial international investigation into the heinous crimes and grave violations committed against Palestinian detainees and prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons and detention camps.

“The televised war against the Palestinian people should be looked at and analyzed from different angles, it is a war to establish a new economic and political order around the world

“Statistical reports and figures have become horrific day by day, the international community has become more paralyzed, international law is not applied unless there is a Western interest, and the world itself has become darker”, the Palestinian Embassy to Nigeria, said in a statement on Monday.

The statement stressed that since the start of the ongoing genocidal war against our people in Gaza, the Israeli occupation has enforced a policy of enforced disappearance against Gaza detainees.

It added that to date, Israel refuses to reveal the identities of the martyred detainees and the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Palestinian prisoners and detainees are subjected to extreme torture and dignity degradation.

“The death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023 has surged to 37,718, with 86,377 injured, mostly women and children. While the blockade has led to widespread malnutrition, with 30 children dying from starvation. Over half a million children have been deprived of education, and 39,000 high school students are unable to take exams”, it said .

Citing Save the Children, the statement added that “Israeli forces have dropped 75,000 tons of explosives – the equivalent of 6 nuclear bombs – on Gaza, turning homes, schools, hospitals and places of worship into rubble. ….. At least 10,000 people are reported missing under the rubble, presumed dead. Children are reported to make up 43% of total casualties in this devastating war…. As of February, an estimated 17,000 children were unaccompanied and separated from their families. …. Furthermore, the bodies of children have been among those recently found in mass graves with many showing signs of torture.”

“In its continuous war against the Palestinian people, Israel has continued for several consecutive months to pirate Palestinian tax funds, which deprives the Palestinian government of fulfilling its financial obligations towards its employees and other suppliers, and cripple the entire Palestinian economy.

“We call on the international community and the United Nations to open an impartial international investigation into the crimes and grave violations committed against detainees and prisoners in the occupation prisons and detention camps.

It, however, commended the Republic of Armenia for officially recognized the State of Palestine as an independent and sovereign nation.

“We express deep and high appreciation for Armenia’s courageous decision and call for all other countries that have yet to make this decision to do so as a vital and necessary step towards promoting security, peace and stability for all”, it said.
