Directed by celebrated filmmaker Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders had its world premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival in October 2023.

The release date of the movie is finally confirmed as the makers revealed that the film will be released on September 13 in theatres.

The movie stars Kareena Kapoor in the lead role. The actress also co-produced the film alongside Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banners of Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films. The murder mystery marks her debut as a producer.

The makers shared the release date with the caption, ''We're thrilled to announce that #TheBuckinghamMurders is coming to theatres on 13th September 2024. Directed by @hansalmehta and starring @kareenakapoorkhan''.

Apart from Kareena Kapoor, The Buckingham Murders also stars actors like Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. The film is penned by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker.

The movie follows the story of a British-Indian detective, played by Kareena Kapoor, who is assigned with the task of uncovering the truth behind the murder of a child in Buckinghamshire.

Kareena Kapoor's character is shown as a grieving mother who also recently lost her child. The actress revealed in an interview with Variety that her role is inspired by Kate Winslet's character in the miniseries Mare of Easttown.
