Ord is coming from Barksdale Air Force Base where he led the operational command for Global Strike in the 608th Air Operations Center but this is not his first assignment to Tinker.

“He is no stranger to Team Tinker and no stranger to America’s Wing and we are truly excited to have him back in our family,” said Voigt. “I look forward to seeing your vision, your drive and your energy and seeing where it takes the TRG.”

After receiving the guidon and accepting command of the 552nd TRG Ord addressed his new group,

“I’m so excited for this opportunity, battle management command and control is the key at all levels, strategic, operational, and tactical. The way that this team trains is important because you provide guidance, risk assessment and then when it comes you provide direction to our warfighters and it has to be right every single time, and it will be with this team.”

As he relinquished command Carroll gave his final thoughts.

“What matters is you must know that you are a contributor to the greatest air force that this planet has ever seen,” said Carroll. “It’s been the honor of my career to serve as your commander, and I am extremely humbled to have had this opportunity to leave you with an irrefutable fact. The 552nd is America’s Wing, America does not go to war without it.”
