3 Suspects Docked For Carting Away N39m Goods From Warehouse

Three suspects including a woman have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly carting away goods worth N39m inside a warehouse known as Royal Priesthood Electronic store.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects Aniefok Daniel, 40, Adejare Olayinka, 34 and the woman, Peace Ohaegbulam, 34, were alleged to have stolen the items from the warehouse located at Ayobo area of Lagos.

Among the items stolen were Midia air conditioners, Maxi plasma TV sets,  LG fridges, power generating sets worth the amount in question without the knowledge of the owner, Shedrack Ezerioha, CEO Royal Priesthood Limited.

According to the Police, they had between January 2024 and May,2024 stolen the items without the knowledge of the management over the period until an internal audit was conducted and it was discovered that the items were missing.

The suspects were interogated by the management but they were unable to explain what happened to the items.

The matter was reported to the  Commissioner of Police Special Squad. The operatives moved into action,  arrested the suspects and detained them at the Command for interrogation.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged conspiracy and stealing.

However, they pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.

The Prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned till 5th August, 2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
