With less than three weeks to go until the Celtic fans can see their heroes in action again, the summer tour of the USA will bring some much-needed proper football back into the supporters’ lives.

Since Celtic beat Rangers in the Scottish Cup final last month, all the attention has been on Scotland and Celtic’s contingent in the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

But with Celtic now set to embark on the 2024 US Summer Tour, the fans will get to see their team line up against DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

And with the fixture against Per Guardiola’s men the glamour tie of the tour, Manchester City have been doing their homework on Celtic ahead of the big game.

Manchester City lauds ‘exciting’ Kyogo Furuhashi

The English Premier League champions have a plethora of multi-talented players in their squad so when they talk about one of Celtic’s players in such glowing terms, it’s worth mentioning.

Profiling Celtic on their official website ahead of the summer tour of the USA, Man City said, “Celtic played 50 competitive matches last season and Kyogo Furuhashi was the only one to feature in all of them.

“The diminutive Japanese forward joined the club from Vissel Kobe in 2021 and has been crucial to their success ever since, finishing the campaign as their joint leading scorer.

“While he wasn’t able to match his tally of 34 goals from 2022/23, Furuhashi’s intelligent movement, low centre of gravity and incredible technical ability have made him one of Scottish football’s most exciting attackers.”

Since his 2021 summer move, Kyogo has lit up the Scottish game and the Celtic fans have taken him to their hearts.

The Japan international has been on fire for Celtic and despite his drop in goalscoring form last season, the 29-year-old still managed to bag 19 goals and a league and Scottish Cup double.

Kyogo will be pivotal for Celtic next season. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to get his striker back to the form he enjoyed under Ange Postecoglou to help continue Celtic’s domination of Scottish football.

And there is no better place to start than against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
