The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is back with a new book...and he's bringing snacks. Marvel has released Spider-Man: The Official Cookbook, packed with recipes to reflect Peter Parker's New York City and beyond. This isn't Marvel's first cookbook - the publisher previously released one for Deadpool, of all people - but it promises to be as popular as the Webslinger himself.

Whether it's Peter Parker, Miles Morales, or even Gwen Stacy, Spider-heroes hail from their respective universe's version of New York City, a veritable melting pot of cultures and ethnicities. That diversity is reflected in Spider-Man: The Official Cookbook: Your Friendly Neighborhood Guide to Cuisine from NYC, the Spider-Verse & Beyond by Jermaine McLaughlin, Paul Eschbach and Von Diaz. The book was just released by Marvel and is filled with recipes from Marvel characters' backgrounds and families.

The book also features a narrated guide via Spider-Man pointing out why each recipe is there and what he loves about it. With great food, comes great responsibility…to share with friends.

Spider-Man: The Official Cookbook Is Full of Spidey's Favorite Foods

An unmasked Spider-Man stands in a window holding food and flowers, telling Mary Jane "Face it, Tigress, you just hit the jackpot!"

The authors put a lot of thought into what recipes and Marvel characters to include. As author Jermaine McLaughlin says, "Spidey IS New York. A legion of spectacular writers and artists over the years have painted one heck of a picture of the sights that make up Peter’s New York. It’s my hope this cookbook can add something to that legacy."Spider-Verse friends are also included here: Luke Cage has a recipe for a Yule Log, which is perfect for the person who loves saying, “Sweet Christmas! There's also a Chai Tea Latte from Wong, good for any Sorcerer Supreme to relax with.

Main characters' families are represented as well. Arañitas are a Puerto Rican fried plantain snack, something Miles Morales would definitely have grown up with, but also great for this book because arañita means “little spider.” Ghost Spider's eggplant Parmesan reflects her affection for her dad and his home cooking, even if it's a bad idea to mix red sauce with a white superhero costume. Peter Parker has his comfort food, too: a pastrami sandwich, and Aunt May's wheatcakes. With appetizers, entrées, and desserts, the book has recipes for all skill levels in the kitchen, from beginner to expert.

Recipes From Every Part of Spider-Man's New York City

The gameplay and visuals of Marvel's Spider-Man are mindlessly enjoyable, like eating junk food.

Spider-Man's New York City is really the guiding theme behind the book. Writer Von Diaz adds, "I can't imagine anyone better suited to explore the city's culinary delights than Spider-Man! He can see and smell all the city has to offer, and the different flavors and cultures that make NYC so special and unique." The chapters are organized by borough, broken up into Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island. New York favorites like black and white cookies and grandma pizza slices are also included, meaning even if fans can't make it to Spider-Man’s Big Apple, they can bring it home.

Marvel: Spider-Man: The Official Cookbook is available now from Marvel Comics and Insight Editions.
