He went on saying if they claim to have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), that doesn’t constitute a legal departure.
Speaking on Arise TV’s Prime Time program, Nwogu emphasized that Martins Amaewhule and other pro-Wike lawmakers’ claim of leaving the PDP should not be accepted as a lawful defection without proper legal basis.
He urged Nigerians to review Justice Basam’s recent ruling to gain clarity on the matter.
According to Nwogu, Justice Basam determined that the state High Court in Port Harcourt lacked jurisdiction to validate the lawmakers’ defection from the PDP.
In Olaka Nwogu’s words in a video (8:54), he said, “Speaking about the case of defection, we should allow the defection matter to be thoroughly dealt with by the Court.
