Wike: According to Ugochinyere ‘If You Have Said That I Can’t Win Election, Why Do I Need To Reconcile With You’

Honorable Ikenga Ugochinyere, a member of the House of Representatives representing Imo State’s Ideato North/South Federal Constituency, has questioned the need for reconciliation with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who had previously declared his desire to back the ruling party in the 2027 election. He stated that individuals who sabotaged the party in the 2023 election should be expelled. He referenced an incident involving Peter Obi and the Labour Party, where over 30 representatives-elect were removed in a single action. He noted that despite the presence of problematic members within the PDP, the remaining members are sufficient to enact change, given their significant representation in the House of Representatives.

He said in an interview with TVC, ”It is important that discipline is restored in the party. And in this discipline, you don’t need to look at anybody’s face. If you have said that I can’t win election, why do I need to reconcile with you? You are not even showing remorse for your actions.

So what are you going to do, kick the people out. You saw what Peter Obi did with the Labour Party with over 30 rep elect in one outing. Even PDP that have bad eggs that are dragging them behind, the members that is still in the PDP is more than enough to bring a change. You have over 120 rep seats and they still have over 10 governors. Discipline must be restored at all cost.”

Sixty members of the House of Representatives, who were elected under the banner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), urged the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun, to step down.

Led by Honourable Ikenga Ugochinyere, the lawmakers accused Damagun of colluding with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). They insisted that Damagun must relinquish his position to allow for the appointment of a North Central representative as the interim Chairman of the party until the convention is held, as stipulated by the party’s constitution. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
