“It was a normal day,” the boy's mother, Anya Camper, recounted. She initially hesitated to allow her son, Semyon Williams Jr., to join his friends for a swim. However, she eventually relented and agreed.

“As a mom, it’s just gut-wrenching, literally helpless. He’s looking to me to fix it. And that’s one thing I can’t do. I can’t fix this. So, it’s ... it’s hard,” Camper expressed.
