Mideon Tells The Undertaker He Was The First Wrestler To Ask Stephanie McMahon Out
We all know that Stephanie McMahon is married to Paul "Triple H" Levesque, with the pair first playing a couple on WWE TV during the Attitude Era before becoming one in real life. They have been married since 2003 and have three daughters together, but that doesn't mean Triple H was the first WWE wrestler to ask her out. The first one brave enough to try was none other than Mideon. Yes, that Mideon, best known as one of the Undertaker's minions in the Ministry of Darkness.
The Ministry of Darkness was one of the most memorable stables of WWE's Attitude Era. What are some of its members up to today?
Mideon, real name Dennis Knight, was a guest on The Undertaker's Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast recently, where the Deadman brought up Mideon's claims that he had once asked Stephanie out on a date. On The False Finish podcast last month, Mideon said:
"I was the first person to ask Stephanie McMahon out. Oh my God, was I in love with her. Not long after I first got there ... Asked her out [to] go see a movie. She's like, 'Oh, well, my dad won't let me date wrestlers or anything.' You know, year or two later with Hunter and all that. Couldn't be a better couple, though. I don't know what their life together's like, but I love them both. Saw her at the Hall of Fame, and just gave her a giant hug. I love them, they're nice." (h/t Wrestling Inc. )
When asked about it by a laughing Undertaker, Mideon said:
"Did you know I was the very first wrestler to ever ask her out on a date? We were at a TV. I mean, we were both like 23. I'm like, 'Oh, dude, hey, you know, we got tomorrow off or whatever.' I was like, 'Do you want to, you know, just casually go see a movie or something like that?' And she was like, 'Oh, I'd love to, but my dad doesn't let me date wrestlers.'"
With his way with words, it's hard to believe that he was rejected. As the Undertaker lost it, he asked Mideon if he had any hostility with Triple H. Deadpan, Mideon said that he could "beat his ass."
The Undertaker's most evil WWE period prevailed in the 1990s when he controlled the reins of a demonic faction called the Ministry of Darkness.
If you're of a certain younger age, you might not know who Mideon is. He signed with WWE in 1996 and was known as Phineas I. Godwinn of The Godwinns. Along with his partner Henry O. Godwinn (their initials were PIG and HOG), the pair won the Tag Team Championships twice. In 1998, he underwent a drastic character change, when he became Mideon, a brainswashed disciple of the Undertaker in the Ministry of Darkness.
Before being released in January 2001, Dennis Knight became naked Mideon, as he would run around completely nude while only wearing a thong and a fanny pack. Certainly, at seeing this, Stephanie McMahon regretted her decision.
