Former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh has disclosed that unpaid salaries for himself and his assistants, coupled with health challenges and lack of support, led to his resignation as coach in 2016.

Oliseh who was appointed by the Nigerian Football Federation NFF in July 2015, highlighted his dedication during his tenure, which saw the team win four out of fourteen games.

Oliseh made the revelation in an interview on Elegbete TV on YouTube. Despite his efforts and Nigeria’s promising qualification prospects for the 2017 Nations Cup, Oliseh felt compelled to step down due to these unresolved issues.
