Ekiti State Government is set to launch the second cohort of its Broiler Production Scheme (EBOPS) for youths, a training program aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic development.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade noted that the success of the first cohort, which saw participants organized into cooperative societies and generating substantial profits, informed the plans for the second cohort. This next cohort aims to expand the program’s reach and impact.

EBOPS provides comprehensive training in broiler production, covering best practices in poultry farming, business management, and marketing strategies. Participants will also benefit from hands-on experience and mentorship from industry experts.

The program is part of the state’s participation in the World Bank-supported Livestock Productivity and Resilience Scheme (LPRES), which funds critical infrastructure and resource development for livestock production. This partnership is expected to significantly boost the state’s agricultural output and contribute to overall economic growth, particularly by facilitating youth employment, growing sustainable MSMEs, and enhancing food security.

Interested youths can register by scanning the barcode on the flyer.
